£15,600 settlement for damaged Mini Cooper

A woman from Barnet in London has used the complete accident management service provided by One Call Sorts All and Camps Solicitors. Mrs W’s Mini Cooper was damaged when it was hit by another vehicle as she drove through the Hertfordshire town of Bushey. Mrs W contacted One Call Sorts All as she was left without the use of her car after the accident, and needed a hire car to be provided whilst her own vehicle was repaired.

As soon as Mrs W contacted our offices, we scheduled an engineer’s inspection of her Mini to determine whether it was economical to repair the damage. The engineer estimated the cost of the damage at around £10,500, and we arranged for the Mini to be taken to one of our network of garages to be repaired to its pre-accident condition.

In the mean time Mrs W was given a like-for-like hire car as similar as possible to her Mini. This meant she was not at any inconvenience whilst her own vehicle was off the road, and could carry on with her daily life. The cost of providing the hire car was around £4,500 and this was included within the claim for damages that was assembled on Mrs W’s behalf.

Mrs W’s claim was a success. The cost of repairing her mini and renting a like-for-like replacement vehicle was recovered from the insurance company of the other motorist, meaning Mrs W did not have to pay a penny. If she had claimed for the damage on her insurance policy she may have been asked to pay an excess or to foot some of the bills for the repairs and hire, but by going with One Call Sorts All and Camps Solicitors, she was not left out of pocket.
