Cheshire car accident victim gets compensation following surgery

A driver from North Wales who was involved in a serious car accident, which left him with permanent injuries, has secured substantial compensation with help from road traffic accident and personal injury specialists, Camps Solicitors.

At the time of the accident Mr W was driving his vehicle along the A55 westbound, near Ewloe in Cheshire, when his left hand front wheel struck a concrete block on the motorway, which had fallen off the lorry travelling in front of him.

As a result he suffered numerous injuries including damage to soft tissue in his neck, shoulder and right wrist. The injuries to the neck and shoulder resolved within a relatively short period of time, however the injury to his right wrist was more severe.

Mr W underwent a Brunelli procedure on the advice of medical experts, which involved inserting pins into his wrist. Camps Solicitors also arranged for him to undergo a course of physiotherapy. Unfortunately, the nature of the wrist injury and the treatment employed was such that he was left with a permanent reduction in movement, of between 25 and 30% in his right wrist. This injury was severe enough to prevent him from carrying out his job as a washing machine engineer and his employment was terminated.

Damages were valued at between £65,000 and £118,000, including special and general damages, the final settlement was £111,100 .

Commenting on the case, solicitor Ged Jones said: “In cases where a road traffic accident has resulted in serious injuries that have a permanent effect on the Claimant, it is important that the Claimant receives adequate compensation for their injuries, past and future medical care & loss of earnings. "
